Why Nihon-Zaru ? In Japanese Nihon-Zaru means "Japanese Macaque" and I was first using this website to keep in touch with my friends and family while I was in Japan, collecting data for my Ph.D. in Ethology (Animal Behavior). I've been staying in that beautiful country for almost 2 years, studying the impact of social and ecological constraints on the decision making of japanese macaques during their group movements.

Even though a section of this website is still dedicated to that purpose, it is now mainly a way to communicate about my work. Thus, you will find information about my on-going researches as well as the past and future ones.You will also find some vulgarisation material about ethology, primates and ressources for the study of Animal Behavior.

As a part of my Ph.D Field Work I've been writting a software to collect behavioral data using a rugerized laptop with a touchscreen. Registered users can find informations about this software and even download it for free.

I am currently working on the  new version of this website. Thus, the amount of information and material available is still limited. Please enjoy your visit and feel free to contact me, whatever the purpose.
